The Drew Company proposed 78 residential units and approximately 10,000 square feet of commercial space in six new buildings across the street from the Greenbush Commuter Rail Station for the Greenbush Transit Oriented Development (TOD) project.
The project’s urban design and landscape architecture approach has responded well to the site’s context adjacent to the train station and the town’s vision for a new transit-oriented village replacing excess commuter rail surface parking.
Buildings and site circulation are strategically planned to support a village scale pedestrian-oriented public realm, including streetscape improvements to Old Driftway and a new central public plaza.
HW staff completed extensive wastewater and inflow/infiltration (I/I) remediation analyses, which helped the town secure a $2.2 million MassWorks grant for water and sewer upgrades. HW provided site design, permitting, landscape architecture, and construction administration for the project.
