Horsley Witten Group assists developers, and non-profit groups in navigating a broad range of land use environmental permitting processes. Whether developing affordable housing, stormwater management, wastewater management systems, remediation systems, or a drinking water supply, our technical staff has the experience and knowledge to guide clients through any process.
We provide comprehensive assessments of potential new water supply alternatives through test well drilling, pump testing, ground water modeling and analysis. We support permitting for these projects through the New Source Approval and Water Management Act permits that are issued by Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP).
For wastewater systems, HW services include soil evaluation, test pit observation, ground water analyses, system design, permitting, and the development of operations and management plans. HW also supports general site design project permitting by providing wetlands, historical, other local permitting. We provide wetland resources and wildlife habitat assessments including rare species. HW’s permitting support for land use projects includes Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA), Groundwater Discharge Permit (GWDP), National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Massachusetts Wetlands Protection Act (WPA), and Massachusetts Endangered Species Act (MESA).
