Wastewater

Planning, Design, and Permitting

Horsley Witten Group has developed wastewater management solutions for communities for over 35 years. Our designs for both large and small wastewater treatment facilities (WWTF) are an integral part of the design and construction of municipal and private development projects. Many of these WWTF’s are in sensitive ecological areas, requiring stringent water quality standards. Some of these treatment facilities have successfully achieved no-net nitrogen increases for coastal watersheds.

Integrated Project Approach

Wastewater management is a critical component of land use planning, water resources, drinking water quality protection, and watershed protection. Sustainable management of wastewater requires an in-depth understanding of environmental resources, treatment technologies, hydraulic impacts, and opportunities for re-use. Today’s projects require integration with infrastructure planning including water supply, stormwater drainage, transportation networks, and broader land use planning initiatives.
